Where does my money go?
Directly into the work. The majority of every dollar funds our editorial staff and freelance writers, with a portion dedicated to the Pensacola Beacon Scholarship Fund for Black media students in the Gulf Coast region. We publish annual impact reports so you always know exactly where member contributions land.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
The Pensacola Beacon is a nonprofit publication. Your recurring membership or one-time gift may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We recommend consulting your tax advisor to confirm deductibility for your specific situation. You'll receive a payment receipt from Stripe for your records.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, absolutely. Monthly memberships can be cancelled at any time — no questions asked, no run-around. Simply use the Stripe customer portal link in your payment confirmation email, or email us at the-pensacola-beacon@polsia.app and we'll handle it within 24 hours.
What's the difference between a membership and a one-time donation?
A monthly membership sustains the Beacon through consistent, predictable funding — that's what lets us hire writers, plan investigations, and commit to scholarships on a schedule. A one-time donation is always welcome if you prefer not to commit monthly. Either way, every dollar counts.
How do I get early access to stories (Patron and up)?
After subscribing, you'll receive a welcome email with instructions to join our members-only newsletter list. Early access pieces are sent directly to that list before they're published on the site — usually 24–48 hours ahead.
Do you offer institutional or custom partnerships?
