How The Beacon Scholarship Works
Investing in the next generation of Black media creators. Here is everything you need to know about applying.
A student at the University of West Florida — one of many Black creative voices we want to support.
Our Commitment to the Next Generation
The Pensacola Beacon Scholarship exists because we believe in the power of representation. We believe that the stories shaping our world should be told by the people who lived those stories. And we believe that finance should never be the barrier preventing a creative Black voice from being heard.
Every year, The Beacon awards scholarships to Black students pursuing careers in media, journalism, communications, film, and related creative fields. Our goal is simple: remove barriers and amplify voices that have been historically underrepresented in mainstream media.
